We had SO much fun learning about Texas, its symbols and motto. The kids learned about and made armadillos, bluebonnets, cactus, Texas flags, cowboys & cowgirls. We also got our "Wanted Poster" made and each child received his/her cowboy name.

As a finale to our Texas Unit each kindergarten class got to parade around the school in the western duds. Western music played over the loud speakers and children from other grade levels lined the hall to cheer them on. The kids felt very special (and a little bit nervous!)
The Kinder Parade
After the parade we got to rotate through 5 different Rodeo Stations: Panning for Gold, Campfire Stories & Snack, Rodeo Pictures, Barrel Racing & Lassoing Rocking Horses. I overheard a couple of my kids saying to each other, "Can you believe that we are having such a fun day?!"
